Free Grace Brethren in Christ Church Cemetery, Rife, Dauphin, Pennsylvania, United States

Free Grace Brethren in Christ Church Cemetery

Notes:
The cemetery can be found along the short stretch of Keefer Road which runs perpendicular to State Route 209. Keefer Road is found between Millersburg and Rife in Dauphin County, PA.

As it is closer to Rife than Millersburg in actual distance, I gave Rife as the default town / village, despite the fact that the cemetery is located more than half a mile from the boundary of Rife, itself.

The Free Grace Brethren In Christ Church Cemetery was bought and established between 1831 and 1833 by the religious group called "Dunkards", so named because of their way of baptizing people. Shortly after the purchase of the plot of ground, a small school house was erected on part of the plot for use as a "common school," and for holding funeral services. Free schools were unknown in those days.
