Gillaspy, Ada Owen
Ada Owen Gillaspy was born in Sheridan, Dallas County, Missouri to Henry Clay Owen and Cornelia James Blyth. She married John Miles Gillaspy on March 20, 1886. Their children were: Hollie Walden Gillaspy, Mable Clair Gillaspy Jones, Gertrude Almar Gillaspy Pearl, James Dewey Gillaspy, John William Gillaspy, Charlie Gillaspy, and Ada Helen Gillaspy Williams. The 1900 census shows they were in Crutcho, Oklahoma.

John Miles Gillaspy was the son of Silas Andrew Gillaspy and Mary Hannah Speaks. We find their family in Iowa up thru the 1860 census, however in 1870 they have relocated to Illinois. He married Ada Owen on March 20, 1886. Their children were: Hollie Walden Gillaspy, Mable Clair Gillaspy Jones, Gertrude Almar Gillaspy Pearl, James Dewey Gillaspy, John William Gillaspy, Charlie Gillaspy, and Ada Helen Gillaspy Williams. The 1900 census shows they were in Crutcho, Oklahoma.

John M. Gillaspy, 63 years old, a true gardener living five miles east of the city on 23rd street, died early yesterday morning at a local hospital. Mr. Gillaspy had lived in Oklahoma county for more than twenty years. He leaves a widow and six children; three sons, Charles, Dewey and William, and three daughters, Mrs. Mable Jones, Mrs. Gertrude Pearl and Ada Helen Gillaspy, all of Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be held at the home at 11 o'clock this morning. Burial will be in Spencer cemetery.
