James William "Jim" Aldrich - military plaque - From the Bellingham Herald, Wednesday, 17 Mar 2004 James William Aldrich of Falls Church, VA, passed away Sat. Feb. 21, 2004 at the age of 69. Jim was born July 2, 1934 to Stewart and Martha Aldrich in Bellingham, WA. He attended Meridian Grade School and graduated from Bellingham High School in 1952 and WWU in 1956. He served in the US Army. In 1961, he joined the CIA where he worked as a Cartographer for more than 30 years. After his retirement in 1989, he returned to the agency as a contract employee. Besides music and photography, history was his avocation and he spent many years researching the US/Canada northwest boundary. A resident of Falls Church, VA. Jim is survived by his wife of 32 years, Betty of Falls Church, VA; their son, William Aldrich of Tok, AK; their daughter, Amy Aldrich of Clinton, OK; sister, Sally Brown (Jim) of Bellingham, WA; and many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held at the Faith Lutheran Church, at NW and McLeod, Bellingham, on March 19, 2004 at 1PM.
